Who is hosting EconCon 2023?

EconCon 2023 is co-hosted by the American Economic Liberties Project, Center for Economic and Policy Research, Community Change, Dēmos, Economic Policy Institute, Economic Security Project, Groundwork Collaborative, In The Public Interest, The Maven Collaborative, Omidyar Network, Oxfam, Roosevelt Institute, Washington Center for Equitable Growth, and WEAll.

When and where is EconCon 2023 happening?

EconCon 2023 is a hybrid conference taking place June 8-9, in-person at the Hotel Washington in Washington, D.C. and online via Hopin. The conference will kick off Thursday afternoon and conclude after a full day Friday.

What’s the deadline to register for EconCon 2023?

Space is limited at the Hotel Washington for in-person attendance. If there is space available, you may register for an in-person ticket until May 18. Otherwise, we encourage you to join our waitlist. Registration for virtual attendance will be open until the conference begins.

I plan to attend in person—what should I know?

A:

Space is limited at the Hotel Washington for in-person attendance. If there is space available, you may register for an in-person ticket until May 18. Otherwise, we encourage you to join our waitlist. Some important logistical information for in-person attendees:

  • Travel and hotel accommodations: Limited hotel and travel support is available to make the cost of attending EconCon 2023 more manageable for those who are not local. When you register to attend in person, you will be able to indicate whether you would like a room at the Hotel Washington and whether you are looking for support to cover the cost of travel. An EconCon 2023 team member will be in touch to follow up.
  • Transportation logistics
    • Metro: Hotel Washington is a 2-block walk from the nearest Metro station, Metro Center, which provides direct access to the Reagan National Airport (DCA) via the blue line and to Dulles International Airport (IAD) via the silver line. You can use the WMATA Trip Planner to find the best metro route for you to Hotel Washington.
    • Bus: Nearest bus stops include: 14th St. NW & F St. NW and 15th St. & F St. NW. You can use the WMATA Trip Planner to find the best bus route for you to Hotel Washington.
    • Bike: Public bike racks are located in the area along F St. NW and 14th St. NW. 
    • Rideshare: There are Uber/Lyft options available in the area. 
    • Driving: Parking at Hotel Washington is $59/night for participants staying at the hotel and $35 for up to 6 hours for those who are not.
  • COVID-19 protocol: In order to ensure everyone’s safety, we will be providing complementary mandatory COVID-19 testing on-site each day at EconCon 2023.
  • Meals: EconCon 2023 will kick off in the afternoon on Thursday, June 8 and conclude with a reception where drinks and snacks will be provided. On Friday, June 9, breakfast and lunch will be included. 
  • Wifi: Complementary wifi will be provided on-site. 
  • Accessibility at the Hotel Washington:
    • Sign language interpreters will be available via request.
    • Language translation services will be available via request.
    • The venue is equipped with adequate mobility services (e.g. elevators, lifts, etc.) for anyone who may require them; lifts are only required to enter the dining area in the basement of the hotel. The ADA-accessible entrance to the hotel is on F Street, located near the valet.

  • Dress: We recommend business casual or business dress for EconCon 2023.

I plan to attend virtually—what should I know?

A:

EconCon 2023 will be livestreamed on Hopin. Some important logistical information for virtual attendees:

  • Using Hopin: To view EconCon 2023 sessions, connect with other virtual attendees, and visit the virtual exhibitor booths, you will need to register on Hopin.
  • Session availability: All plenary sessions and a limited number of breakout sessions will be available on Hopin. Some breakout sessions will not be livestreamed so we encourage you to consider attending in person if that’s an option for you.
  • Accessibility with Hopin
    • Captions will be available for all virtual sessions via Hopin and translation wil be available on request.
    • If you have any additional needs, please reach out to info@econcon.com for further assistance.

I would like to switch my ticket type. What do I do?

Please reach out to info@econcon.com if you need assistance changing from either in-person to virtual or vice-versa.

Will the recordings of the sessions be available after the conference?

A:

Recordings of livestreamed sessions will be available to view after the conference for a limited time.
